Vinton authorities arrest 3 after weekend shooting

KPLC News Director Charlie Haldeman is substituting for Cynthia Arceneaux tonight.

Wild weather moved across parts of Louisiana early this morning, but Southwest Louisiana escaped the severe storms.  To our east though, the community of Baker, Louisiana is cleaning up after a tornado.  Chief Meteorologist Wade Hampton is forecasting a big chill overnight too.

In Vinton, 3 people face charges related to a shooting.  That includes the man who was wounded.  It started with a report of a home invasion and ended with a report that a man had been shot in the back.

We'll start off the broadcast tonight with reaction from family members of two people accused of 2nd degree murder.  The story is a follow up after the death of Anthony Batiste.  Kennan and Austin Cedars are accused of killing Batiste, but family members say it was self defense.
