Brown family update: mom responds by squeezing hand

GLADEWATER, TX (KLTV) -

Heather Brown of Gladewater went into a coma while she was 34 weeks pregnant.

Her husband, Sean, was serving in Afghanistan and flew home to be with his newborn son and wife, who were both in the hospital.

Baby John is home with Sean and is doing well.

Heather is still in a coma at a hospital in Shreveport but Sean says she is responding by squeezing his hand.

He also says Heather opened her eye last week for about 20 minutes.

Sean brings their son, John, to visit Heather and says she has her own way of showing them she can hear them.

For the rest of today we will continue to see cloudy skies and not many breaks in the clouds. The front that came to us yesterday has stalled and is moving back to the north. This will take just about all of the rain up with it. Therefore, we should not see as much rain today. There could still be a few small showers, but not everyone will see rain. Temperatures will be warm once again, and will reach the upper 70s, near 80 degrees.
