The mysterious death of a Tyler man who was killed in the hours following Thanksgiving has been solved, according to Tyler Police investigators.

Police say 38-year-old Chad Everett Davis was struck by a vehicle driven by a friend in a wooded area in South Tyler near Blue Mountain Boulevard and Cumberland Road.

Officials say Davis and his friend had been drinking in the hours before the accident.

Tyler Police received a call Friday at 1:18 a.m. from East Texas EMS regarding a person whom they were transporting to the ETMC emergency room.

EMS workers told the police that the individual had sustained serious injuries and that police help was needed.

The case remains under investigation.
