LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -
UPDATE as of 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17: CPSO said they are in the beginning stages of their investigation and they are looking for possible suspects. No other information has been released by CPSO.
A Moss Bluff woman is being questioned by authorities after she claims she was held hostage at gunpoint and robbed, family members said.
It began Saturday morning at a Moss Bluff home and ended at a check cashing business in Lake Charles on Highway 171.
Relatives of the victim said the 25-year-old woman was getting ready to leave for work when multiple men got into her car and held a gun to her head. Relatives said the woman was told to drive to work, where the men robbed her.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's deputies did not confirm the story Saturday morning, but did say they were investigating.
A strip mall on Highway 171 was cordoned off with crime scene tape but was cleared by Saturday afternoon.
An investigator at the scene said he wasn't authorized to release any details and referred questions to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's spokeswoman Kim Myers.
