Sports Person of the Week - Shane Hanchey

OUT OF 15 CANADIAN RODEOS, SULPHUR'S SHANE HANCHEY TOOK HOME A WORLD TITLE IN THE BIGGEST ONE...THE CFR.

"to accomplish one of the goals I set out in 2010 and started going up there to win a Canadian world title, and two years later I do it, I just feel fortunate."

THE 23-YEAR OLD PRO TIE-DOWN ROPER WILL COMPETE IN ABOUT 100 RODEOS THIS YEAR ALONE. SO HOW DOES HE STAY FOCUSED AT THE TASK AT HAND?

"you just have to go back to the drawing board and look at your dreams and your goals, because it's mentally draining, it's physically draining, and it takes a toll, especially gearing up for the NFR.

THE NFR...THE SUPERBOWL OF ALL RODEOS...TAKES PLACE IN LAS VEGAS IN THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER. THIS WILL BE HANCHEY'S THIRD APPEARANCE...AND SAYS IT CAN'T GET HERE SOON ENOUGH.

I'm excited, I'm like a little kid this time of year, I wish it was a tomorrow. I have to get ready and get prepared for what we got to do.
