NEW JERSEY (WAFB) -
Louisiana State Troopers
continue to lend a helping hand to those affected most by the rough weather in
the Northeast.
LSP Troopers headed to New
Jersey earlier this week to help out with security in the barrier areas of the
state, like Jersey Shore.
Colonel Mike Edmonson
landed in the New Jersey area Thursday afternoon and says the devastation in
the Jersey Shore area is extensive.
Residents in that area are
now dealing with the effects of a winter storm just days after coping with
Hurricane Sandy. More than 50,000 extra residents are without power due to the
new storm.
The Louisiana troopers
began an eight day stretch on Monday but will remain after that if they're
needed.
