Through the month of November, KPLC's Holly Carter is taking a close look at bullying in schools in Calcasieu Parish.
Tonight on 7 News Nightcast, we'll meet 16-year-old Tanner Hantz.
Tanner says bullies started targeting him when he was only in middle school. He thought it would eventually stop, but he says it hasn't. Early this semester, he spent a week in the hospital being treated for depression. Now, he says he's stronger than before, but the bullying is still going on.
His mother, Susie, says the ordeal is hard and overwhelming. She says she feels hopeless and that things are out of her hands. She also says the bullying got so bad that Tanner quit the football, despite his love for sports.
We'll hear more of Tanner's story, and hear more from his mother on 7 News Nightcast.
