Body found in box identified as ETX teen

WILLS POINT, TX (KLTV) -

Officials have confirmed the body found in a box on Tuesday in Van Zandt County is that of 16-year-old Alicia Chanta Moore. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office identified the body on Wednesday.

Moore was reported missing on Friday, Nov. 2. She was last seen getting off a school bus in Greenville.

A road crew found the teen's body on FM 47 north of Wills Point. Van Zandt County Sheriff Pat Burnett says Moore was found in a box-style trunk.

Texas Rangers are investigating this case. 

Police have not said if they have any suspects. 

Moore's family was informed on Tuesday that a body was found but there was no positive identification at that time. 

No arrests have been made in connection with Moore's death at this time.

    The Lake Charles Police Department says it arrested a man for failing to register and notify as a sex offender after moving to Lake Charles. The department says Damien Prater moved from Cottonport and did not let the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office or the Lake Charles Police Department know of his status.
