'Fire and Spice' chili cookoff taking place at CITGO Park - KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

'Fire and Spice' chili cookoff held at CITGO Park

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

The Second Annual CITGO Fire and Spice Chili Cook-off, benefiting United Way of SWLA, was held Thursday at CITGO Park in Sulphur.

Cooking teams competed for first, second and third place "Competition Chili."

Taking first place was Brand Energy. Albemarle took second place and Sage Environmental took third.

Also judged were Best Team Costume, Best Table Decoration and People's Choice Chili.

Teams represented local industry and businesses throughout Southwest Louisiana. They were judged by elected officials, local celebrities and public figures.

All proceeds from the event will benefit United Way.
