VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
The 97-year-old woman assaulted in a home invasion last week is still recovering at a local hospital.
Family said Arlene Jones has a serious head injury and broken bones. The Jones family is unsure when Arlene will be released and are asking for prayers.
The Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office identified the home invasion suspect as 26-year-old David Wayne Taylor of Chandler.
Taylor was arrested Sunday near County Road 4908 in Van Zandt county and was charged with evading arrest and aggravated robbery. His bond is set at $250,000.
The suspect was brought into the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office after being examined by the hospital for injuries sustained while hiding in the wooded area over night. Van Zandt County Investigators were then able to obtain enough evidence to issue a warrant for the Aggravated Robbery of the elderly female.
David Wayne Taylor is currently being held at the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office on charges of Evading and Aggravated Robbery.
