SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -
An explosion at Camp Minden late Monday night has caused damage to structures in Minden and surrounding areas.
KSLA News 12 spoke with two business owners in Downtown Minden whose businesses sustained minor damage because of the blast. Vault, a downtown business, was missing a front window when owner Miranda Thompson arrived at the location on Main Street early this morning.
"I was just told that there was an explosion. I have an old building so I was like ‘what exploded'," says Thompson. "I was just worried about the store".
The owner of Grinder's Glass, Inc., Elmer Grinder, says that his crews have visited local stores and near-by houses to make repairs throughout the day. Grinder says that most of the damage he has seen has been to windows and glass doors.
Some business owners say that they have been contacted by Explo Systems Inc., the company responsible for the exploded bunker, about repairing the damage caused by the blast.
