Zoning commission votes down proposed charter school location

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

The zoning commission tonight voted against the proposed site for the development of a new charter school, south of Lake Charles.

The vote was 7 against, 3 for the location at Nelson and Ham Reid Roads. Southwest Louisiana Charter Board President Judge Gene Thibodeaux tells 7 News' Olivia Vidal that they plan to appeal the zoning commission's decision.

Until then, he said, the board plans to continue to look for a new location to build the charter school.

Look for all of tonight's developments in Olvia's report tonight on Nightcast at 10.
