DEQUINCY, LA (KPLC) -

DeQuincy Police arrested two people following a chase on Thursday.

Authorities, in a news release, said they received an anonymous tip that Christopher Rainwater was in the area and had been listed in Crime Stoppers recently.

Authorities said they received information that Rainwater was in a stolen truck from Newton, Texas.

Officers from DeQuincy Police located the vehicle and the suspects reportedly refused to stop.

Authorities said the driver, Jaylin Scott Love, from DeQuincy, wrecked, leaving the vehicle in the ditch.

Both subjects fled on foot, authorities said, and were located and placed under arrest. Officers reportedly located a weapon and other stolen items in the suspect vehicle.

Rainwater was charged with unauthorized use of a movable, illegal possession of stolen things over $1,000, illegal possession of stolen firearm, possession of firearm by convicted felon and aggravated flight from an officer.

Love is charged with unauthorized use of moveable, illegal possession of stolen things over $1,000, illegal possession of stolen firearm, reckless operation, aggravated flight from an officer and no driver's license.

Bond has not been set as of this time. Officers with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office assisted.
