Sexual harassment allegation leads to termination of CPSO deputy

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

A sexual harassment complaint against a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputy was filed through the Lake Charles Police Department after an incident allegedly took place last weekend.

The CPSO conducted its own internal personnel investigation after the LCPD notified them of the investigation. During the course of their internal investigation, the CPSO found that the deputy committed several policy violations during the time the harassment allegedly took place.

The Sheriff's Office terminated the deputy for these policy violations. LCPD will continue to investigate the incident. No criminal charges have been filed against the deputy.

The Sheriff's Office would not release the name of the deputy, and the Deputy Chief Mark Kraus says the LCPD does not comment on sexual complaints.
