NATCHITOCHES, LA (KSLA) -
A Lafayette woman was arrested Monday in connection with the June 19th arson fire that destroyed a landmark bed and breakfast in Natchitoches.
Nancy L. Rogers, 55, was arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail on one count of simple arson. No bond has been set.
The fire marshall's office says Rogers was seen at the Levy East House hours before the fire was set. The fire was first reported at around 5:45 a.m.
The Levy East House was built in the 1830's. However it only took flames a couple of hours to destroy the historic landmark along Jefferson Street near downtown Natchitoches.
KSLA News 12 later learned that the Levy East House was in foreclosure and that the current owners, Arachnid Enterprises, LLC out of Delaware had been sued by a Natchitoches lein holder.
