Fall arrives a little early

Posted: Updated:
LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Lows this morning dropped into the 50s for everyone except our coastal locations which was definitely a breath of fresh air after the long hot summer we've endured.

Fall begins this weekend, but Mother Nature decided to give us a free preview before the official start date on Saturday.

Spectacular sunny weather will continue for the next several days.  Tonight lows will again drop to into the 50s north of I-10, and to around 61 for Lake Charles.

Friday will be a bit warmer than today during the afternoon with highs back into the upper 80s, again with low humidity.

Saturday continues to remain dry with slightly more humidity but it will be short-lived.  Another dry cold front should push through the area on Sunday, dropping the humidity yet again.  Lows at night should remain in the 60s for the next several mornings.

This weekend may be the time to tend to your neglected outdoor projects as this fall-like feel to the air continues these next several days.
