Cooler Air Moves In Tonight - KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Cooler air moves in tonight

Temperatures finally started their slow drop early this morning as what was left of the cold front pushed south into the coastal waters of the Gulf.

Remnant cloud cover was the main reason temperatures remained a few degrees warmer overnight than anticipated.

The temperatures have responded accordingly this morning holding back into the low 70s even through the late morning hours.

Tonight we'll have more working in our favor for cooler temperatures.

Clear skies and drier air should allow overnight lows to drop significantly more than this morning.

I expect lows in the 50s for everyone along and north of I-10 and 60s for the coastal parishes.

A gradual warm-up will occur by Friday and Saturday, but another reinforcing dry front will move in at some point Sunday.

That should trim back morning lows into the low 60s again for early next week.
