Police in Welsh and Jennings are both searching for the man responsible for two brazen cash grab robberies.

The first happened Monday evening at the Citgo gas station on Shankland Avenue in Jennings, according to authorities.

Police said the man walked in around 8:30 p.m., got a drink from the cooler, went to the counter, then reached over and grabbed cash from the register and fled.

It was almost a carbon-copy crime in Welsh on Tuesday afternoon at the Exxon station on Russell Avenue, authorities said. Again, the bandit reportedly made a money grab and fled.

The suspect is described as a black male,  6'1", weighing around 250 pounds. He had a goatee and walked with a slight limp like he had an injured right leg, authorities said.

Anyone with information should contact either the Jennings Police Department at 275-9002 or the Welsh Police Department at 734-2626.
