DERIDDER, LA (KPLC) -

Billie Joe Weldon was found guilty of manslaughter late Friday by a jury in 36th Judicial District Court, according to Beauregard Parish court officials.

Stephens' body was found in August 2009 off Granberry Road near U.S. 171 in the Pleasant Hill community. The Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office determined that Stephens, 27, died of head trauma.

Court officials say the jury voted 10-2 for the manslaughter conviction.
