A Lake Charles man is accused of stalking and cruelty to the infirm, according to a news release from Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kim Myers.
Myers said 55-year-old Patrick C. Miller was arrested Monday and is facing 12 counts of stalking and one count of cruelty to the infirm.
Myers said authorities were called to a Lake Charles home Monday in reference to a complaint of stalking and elderly abuse.
Miller is alleged to have made several "threatening and intimidating" calls to two family members. He is also accused of going to their homes on numerous occasions after multiple requests not to, the release states.
Miller is also alleged to have physically abused a family member, who is 84, by shaking him "violently."
"When questioned by detectives, Miller confirmed that he grabbed the elderly family member and shook him and also confirmed that he continuously called and went to the family member's home even after numerous requests not to do so," Myers said in the release.
