The following news release was issued by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office on Sunday, Sept. 2:
Officials with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Darrin Duhon, 28, Breaux Bridge in connection with this afternoon's shooting of three people in the 700 block of Main Hwy., in Breaux Bridge.
The suspect fled the scene and was apprehended a short time later in Abbeville by the Abbeville Police Department and was arrested on unrelated charges. The subject was then turned over to the custody of the Breaux Bridge P.D. who transported the subject to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office for further criminal investigation. Following the initial investigation, a Warrant of Arrest was obtained on the subject for the charges listed below.
He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charges: Three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder and one count of Domestic Abuse Battery. His bond was set at $750,000 for the Attempted First Degree Murder charges and $5,000 for the Domestic Abuse Battery charge.
