LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

This week's 7 Sports Person of the week is McNeese State's senior free safety, Malcolm Bronson.

Bronson, a native of Jasper, TX, is a three-time first team all Southland Conference selection.  Bronson led the Pokes last season with 90 tackles and three interceptions.

As a senior, he thrives on being a vocal leader and helping his teammates improve everyday.

"I mean I kind of try to talk to people, like when I catch them on the sideline, or or just a little thing, or if they don't finish a stretch, or things like that, I kind of get on them a little bit."

Bronson will play alongside his younger brother, Ryan Bronson, for one last hurrah but Malcolm couldn't be any more eager to hit the field when the Cowboys open up their season Thursday night at Middle Tennessee State.

"It's here now" says Bronson.  "I took it one day at a time, finally crept up on me, school started up and then we about to be rolling now."
