Good morning everyone!
Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom preparing for 7News@Noon.
We are continuing our look at Isaac. Lots of devastation, flooding, and power issues around the state. The Governor will be updating the situation shortly before noon – something you'll be able to watch in its entirety on kplctv.com.
We'll have reports from the path of destruction, on the costs of the storm and some daring rescues. Meanwhile, 20 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's deputies and tons of assets are deploying to Plaquemines Parish to assist in any way they can.
As far as our area is concerned, Ben says the Flash Flood Watch for all of southwest Louisiana and Acadiana has been canceled, but says we can still expect some gusty winds that could knock limbs onto power lines. Speaking of power problems, some folks have been without electricity for awhile now – when can they expect to have it restored? We're checking into the situation, and we'll update what's happening with local schools.
Plus, a major collision on Highway 27 in Carlyss that prompted closure of the highway this morning.
