Lake Charles woman accused of stealing from store’s deposits

The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

On August 27, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a store on Country Club Road in Lake Charles regarding an employee stealing from the company.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a security team member of the store who advised on numerous occasions over the past 2 months, store employee, Phillis S. Arabie, 45, of Lake Charles, was captured on store video surveillance stealing a total of over $6,500 worth of cash from the nightly deposits.

When questioned by deputies, Arabie confirmed to stealing the cash from the stores nightly deposits.

Arabie was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged theft over $1,500.

Judge Kent Saoive has set her bond at $2,500.
