New Orleans, LA -

With Tropical Storm Isaac making its way to New Orleans this week, Saints interim head coach Joe Vitt has canceled meetings and practice Monday to allow players to evacuate their families.  Vitt did say however, he plans on practicing at their facility Tuesday morning before flying out to Tennessee for their final preseason game.

in the meantime, the Saints showcased that top notch offense Saturday night in their 34-27 win over the Houston Texans.  Brees ran 179 yards, including touchdown passes to key targets Lance Moore and Jimmy Graham.

With only one more preseason game remaining, Brees says  he's pleased with the way guys are progressing:

"I think the most important thing is we continue to make strides forward and even though it hasn't been perfect, we've been pretty efficient but as we go on to the season, we know that we're gonna need to continue to get better."
