LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

It was high stakes karaoke Saturday night all benefiting the Lake Charles Children's Museum. Several participants got on stage for the annual "Imagination Celebration" fundraiser.

The event now in its 14th year is the museum's largest fundraiser contributing about 50% of the organization's annual budget.  In addition to the dazzling vocals there was also a silent and live auction. There was also good eats on hand with nearly 30 restaurants and caterers providing food for everyone.

Organizers said it's a true testament of the community's generosity in helping keep the museum going for children of all ages.

"We cannot thank the community enough because without their support and donations and their participation we would not be possible. We really span the entire nation. We have people who come through our doors off the Interstate every day. We really love being a prime spot for families in the Lake Area," said Allyson Montgomery, Assistant Director of the Lake Charles Children's Museum.

All proceeds go to the Children's museum which by the way will celebrate its 25th anniversary next spring.
