New Orleans, LA - Tonight when the New Orleans Saints host the Houston Texans in their second to last game of the preseason, you'll see an obvious battle taking place between the two opposing teams. But don't forget about the competitions taking place internally. There's only two more weekends for players to prove themselves and secure a spot on that 53 man roster.
Let's not forget about the battle of the kickers. Garrett Hartley kicked an overtime field goal against the Minnesota Vikings to send the Saints to their only Super Bowl. John Kasay, at the age of 42, has proved to be one of the most reliable kickers in the NFL, but New Orleans only has room for one.
And another player trying to claim his roster spot: Houston Texan's Trindon Holliday. The 5'5, 170 lbs former LSU Tiger seems to have been fighting for his spot even as a child.
"It all started way back, when actually my mother wouldn't even let me play when I was smaller, so I finally convinced her when I was in the 8th grade and so I went on from then."
