Former Saints defensive end Anthony Hargrove was released by the Green Bay Packers on Friday. Hargrove is facing an eight game suspension for his role in the bounty program, but the 29 year old denies NFL accusations that he lied to league investigators.
Hargrove had spent the 2009-2010 season with New Orleans and spent last year with the Seattle Seahawks. The Packers had signed Hargrove on March 29th, 2012 and the NFL suspended him on May 2nd.
In addition to Hargrove, the Packers also released wide receiver Andrew Brewer, safety Micah Pellerin, offensive tackle Herb Taylor and cornerback Dion Turner.
