Indictment handed down in Chateau du Lac slaying

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A Calcasieu Parish grand jury on Thursday indicted one of the four people accused in the death of an elderly man at the Chateau du Lac high-rise apartments in July.

John J. Landry III, 38, was indicted for first-degree murder in connection with the death of 83-year-old Preston John LeBleu.

The three others arrested by Lake Charles police and charged in the case were Landry's mother, Irma Landry; his sister, Sarah Landry Green; and a friend, LeJeanna Marie Thomas. All were charged with accessories after the fact to murder.

Landry remains in jail without bond.
