The New Orleans Saints added yet another linebacker to their roster, announcing Monday they have acquired middle linebacker Barrett Ruud in exchange for an undisclosed draft pick.

This comes after the black and gold were hit with injuries to linebackers Curtis Lofton and David Hawthorne. Both linebackers will likely be out for the remainder of the preseason.

According to interim head coach Joe Vitt, Lofton has a high ankle sprain and Hawthorne needs surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee. Lofton is expected to return for the Saints season opener against the Washington Redskins.
