The following is a Press Release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:
On Aug. 15, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office re-arrested Kelly A. Francois, 39, of Lake Charles, and charged him with an additional count of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of sexual battery when it was learned he engaged in more sexual acts with the same female victim. He was already being held in the Calcasieu Correctional Center from a previous arrest on July 31 for indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $500,000 on the new charges.
The arrest, on July 31, was after an investigation revealed he had inappropriate sexual contact with a female family acquaintance beginning in 2010, when the girl was 14 years old. Detectives also recovered several letters that Francois had written to the victim over the past several months that were sexual in nature and described inappropriate behavior that Francois was involved in with the victim.
Francois' total bond is $550,000 for both arrests.
CPSO Detective Trey Thomas is the lead investigator.
