LCPD releases surveillance of Wal-Mart theft

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

Lake Charles Police are looking for a lawnmower thief who struck in broad daylight. It was all caught on surveillance video.

Police tell 7 News that the theft occurred at the Nelson Road Wal-Mart on July 22.

The man suspected can be seen walking into the garden department of the store. He parked next to the victim's truck. He gets into his own pickup and then gets out again, and takes the John Deere lawnmower out of the back of the other pickup.

Police say the suspect was driving a 2000 to 2006 model white Ford pickup truck.

The vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on I-210.
