LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Louisiana Municipal Association convention continued Saturday at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
Mayors and city officials from across the state gathered together this weekend. Some 1,800 delegates were expected to attend. According to an event press release, Cities Mean Business" is the theme for the gathering. The purpose is to show how cities help drive Louisiana's economic competitiveness.
Saturday's guest speaker is democratic U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu. She addressed community leaders, talking about growth and development for the state.
