LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A former Westlake man was convicted and sentenced on home invasion and aggravated battery charges on Thursday, according to a news release from 14th Judicial District Court officials.

Adrian Harvey, formerly of Westlake, was found guilty by Judge Wilford Carter, who handed down a 15-year sentence for Harvey with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.

Assistant District Attorneys Brent Hawkins and Lawrence Babineaux prosecuted the case.

The release states that Harvey's conviction stems from a 2010 incident at a Vinton home.

According to court officials, Kentrell Williams, Harvey's co-defendant in the case, entered an Alford plea to attempted home invasion in January 2011. Carter sentenced Williams to eight years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
