LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -
The 18th annual Tournament of the Stars honored a local woman who has been serving up hot meals for more than 25 years.
Pearl Cole, director of Abraham's Tent and food bank, was this year's honoree for her many years of service.
The event raised money for scholarships through sponsors and a live auction.
Cole said she was honored to be recognized and glad she can continue to serve Southwest Louisiana.
"I think I've got the greatest job in the world... And that's seeing God at work everybody seeing people come in that know very little about Abraham's Tent and are always willing to work, always willing to help. And that's what these people have been doing for a long time," said Cole. "I'm so thankful for everyone who has volunteered and donated their time to us over the years. I'm very thankful to Southwest Louisiana."
Percy Sledge also took the stage later in the night to honor Cole.
