Over the last couple of weeks someone has been circulating so-called BP oil claim forms in the Lake Charles area. While man, if not most medical claims associated with the Deepwater Horizon oil spill have been settled, someone is holding meetings around the Lake area trying to get people to sign up. CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a murder at Quailridge Mobile Estate Park on East Gauthier Road.

Around three o'clock Sunday afternoon, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call at Lot 418 in the Quailridge Mobile Estate Park.

"Right now we're obviously treating this as a homicide," said Sheriff Tony Mancuso. "We do have one person deceased. Of course we're early in the investigation."

The call for help was made after someone entered the home and found 38-year-old Raymona Lisa Gilmore dead.

The Sheriff's Department had to wait several hours before going inside. They had to secure search warrants before entering the residence.

"Family members had found her," said Sheriff Mancuso. "So we arrived on the scene and that's the point we started treating it as a homicide."

At this point in the investigation, they are being treated as witnesses and none of them are suspects.

"We have taken what we believe to be some witnesses to the office at this point to just question," said Sheriff Mancuso.

Sheriff Mancuso says investigators are trying to piece together what might have happened to Gilmore.

"We've got some detectives at the office, again, talking to some family about her last whereabouts," said Sheriff Mancuso.

Officers stayed at the scene for hours, gathering evidence and talking to neighbors of Gilmore. Sheriff Mancuso assures residents that his department will solve the case, Calcasieu's first murder of the year outside of Lake Charles.

"I know that people want to know what's going on and what's happening in their trailer park and in our community," said Sheriff Mancuso. "But we'll get to the bottom of this, just give us some time to put all the pieces together."

Sheriff Mancuso says he hopes to release more information tomorrow as his office continues its investigation.
