Friday night meth lab bust in Sulphur

SULPHUR, LA (KPLC) -

Sulphur Police confirmed a meth lab in a home on North Claiborne Street.

Amber and Edward Dean were both put under arrest for operation and creation of a clandestine lab and cruelty to juveniles.

Three children were found in the home. Sulphur PD called Child Services immediately and the children were placed in the care of relatives.

Sgt. Jason Gully of Sulphur PD said they were tipped off by a neighbor of the Deans.

"A person came up to the police department and thought they had walked into a meth lab, officers spoke with them and went back with them to North Claiborne Street," Gully said. The narcotics officers then confirmed the operation of a meth lab.

No bond has been set for the Deans.

Law enforcement continues to ask for the public's help in cracking down on meth labs.
