The following news released was received Sunday from Lafayette Police:
Lafayette, LA – On July 22, 2012, at approximately 2:30 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 100 block of East Martial Avenue regarding a crash involving a single vehicle. The vehicle, a 2007 black Nissan, was traveling east when for unknown reasons traveled off the left side of the roadway. Once off of the roadway, the vehicle collided with multiple fixed objects and rolled over onto its roof.
The driver of the vehicle, a 25 year old male of Lafayette, was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin. The crash remains under investigation.
