United States Attorney Stephanie A. Finley announced today that a Chief Warrant Officer with the U.S. Coast Guard pled guilty before U.S. District Judge Patricia Minaldi in federal court in Lake Charles, to possession of child pornography charges.

According to court documents, an undercover investigation revealed that Michael Robert Gleason, 50, formerly of Lake Charles, LA, was using internet peer to peer websites to download and possess child pornography. At sentencing, Gleason faces a term of imprisonment of up to ten years. Sentencing in this matter has been set for October 25, 2012 in Lake Charles, LA.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent Eric Link and Louisiana State Police Master Trooper Michael Hebert. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Daniel J. McCoy.
