Man accused of not registering as a sex offender

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A sex offender is back in jail on a $75,000 bond, accused of failing to update his Louisiana sex-offender identification card.

According to Lake Charles police, Jason Hendrickson, 38, was convicted in 1995 of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a 15-year-old Minnesota girl. Hendrickson is bound by law to a lifetime sex-offender registration.

LCPD said prior to July 1, 2012, Hendrickson has been in Louisiana due to an outstanding arrest warrant in Colorado for failing to register as a sex offender. LCPD said they confirmed that Hendrickson has a Lake Charles address and has not registered.

Hendrickson was charged with failure to register/notify as sex offender and sex offender ID card must be carried.
