The following is a Press Release from the Internal Revenue Service:
The Internal Revenue Service announced Wednesday the upcoming relocation of its Taxpayer
Assistance Center
in Lake Charles.
The IRS office will close its current Rochester location at 921 Moss Street on July
27 at noon and reopen Monday July 30 at noon at its new location at One Lake Shore Drive. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
"The new taxpayer-friendly
location is more accessible with convenient parking," said Dee Harris
Stepter, IRS spokesperson.
At the agency's Taxpayer Assistance
Centers, taxpayers or tax preparers can meet face-to-face with an IRS tax
specialist to discuss their tax situation.
"Just about any question can be
answered on IRS.gov or through our toll-free line," said Stepter.
"Our Taxpayer
Assistance Center
provides one-on-one personal tax help for taxpayers who believe their tax issue
cannot be handled online or by phone."
For more information on the services
provided at our Taxpayer
Assistance Center,
taxpayers can either go to IRS.gov or call (507) 281-3044 for a recorded
message with this information. No appointment is necessary.
