Don't miss 7 News at Noon!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a look at what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

And so it begins. Ameristar Casinos, Inc. is moving earth today in preparation for its Ameristar Casino Resort Spa in Lake Charles. Bulldozers will begin clearing the site for construction and we'll hear about plans for the resort.

We'll show you how an actual plane was seen going down the road to a local school. What was the destination, and how will it benefit area students? We'll have the answers at noon.

Also today, do you ever worry about radiation risks associated with getting x-rays? A new study shows nearly 2 million people annually were exposed to unnecessary radiation during a 15 year period.

Plus, if you have a credit card with miles or points attached, we'll show you how to make the best use of it. We'll have simple tips to maximize those rewards, without racking up the debt.

As far as our weather is concerned, Ben tells me to expect the low 90's by this afternoon.  Showers and thunderstorms should be greatly limited, but we could get a few hit and miss showers.  Ben's working on his complete local forecast right now, so look for it at noon.  In the meantime you can go HERE for weather info 24 hours a day.

Remember, we're broadcasting live at noon on kplctv.com and on air.  We hope you join us, and have a great day everyone!

A few showers possible Monday for the eclipseA few showers possible Monday for the eclipse

Overnight, we will have clouds clear and will become mostly clear. Temperatures will slowly fall to the mid 70s. It will feel very warm due to the humidity. Heat indices will be in the 80s, throughout the night. Monday, the day of the eclipse, there is just a 30% chance of rain, so we will most likely have a few clouds during the time of the eclipse. There could be a few showers around the peak of the eclipse, but more likely, at least some clouds.
