I'd like to tell you a little bit more about me and my sportscasts. Wednesday, July 11 is just my 8th day on KPLC-TV and already, some of you have noticed that I am not your typical sports guy. I've received quite a bit of feedback. Some very positive and some... not so positive.
In response, I want you to know that I never intend to offend or anger anyone with my sportscasts.
But I DO intend to present the sports in a different kind of way.
If you're looking for Joe Friday on sports ("just the facts"), you have the wrong guy. I believe that sports should be the fun part of the newscast and I try to have fun doing it.
I hope to do it with a twinkle in my eye... not a sneer on my lips.
I try to see the humorous side of sports but I won't ever poke fun at a high school or college kid. Only the pros. That's just my style and I know it is not for everyone.
If you don't like me, feel free to exercise your inalienable right as a viewer but I hope you'll give me a couple of weeks.
