Tuesday Afternoon Headlines

This is Cynthia Arceneaux from the KPLC Newsroom.

Today a judge is taking a closer look at one of the lawsuits surrounding the state's voucher program. Two separate groups, including the Black Alliance for Educational Options have come out in favor of the governor's program, and want to be a part of the lawsuit to defend the program. They're hoping to be added as defendants in the case alongside the governor.

Also today we'll have more in the case of missing UL student Mickey Shunick and the man police have arrested in her disappearance. 33-year-old Brandon Scott Lavergene now has a court date set to go before a grand jury.

And what's wrong with our roads? An eight mile stretch of Highway 14 is riddled with pot holes and residents there are sick of the botched up highway. They want the state to do something about it.

We'll have those stories...And tell you how much longer we'll be getting the rain.

That's today at Live at Five and 7 News at Six. We hope to see you then.
