Don't miss 7 News at Noon!

Good morning everyone!

Agnes DeRouen in the KPLC 7 Newsroom with a preview of what we're working on for 7News@Noon.

Something new for Calcasieu Parish residents – an innovative civic-reporting tool.  What will you be able to do with it, and how will it enhance our community?  KPLC's Gerron Jordan is getting the answers and will have our story for noon.

We'll also have a Better Business Bureau alert.  It involves bill collectors hounding some former customers of a video rental business for apparently bogus late fees.  You can learn more about that HERE.

Do you have a cat or cats?  If you're a woman, just having to care for that cat could expose you to a potential health problem.  We'll tell you about a new study that shows an interesting link between a common litter box parasite and women's health.

Plus, we're going to show you a strange hunk of machinery that isn't a tractor, or a lawnmower, but you can ride on it.  It even gets great gas mileage.  What is it, and why was in engineered?  Nosy people want to know and we'll reveal all.

In weather, if you liked yesterday, you'll probably like today.  Ben says we'll have partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies with afternoon highs in the 90's.  We may get a couple of isolated showers, but I'm told we'll have more of a chance of rain over the weekend.  Ben's working on the numbers now and will have a complete, local forecast for you in just a bit.

Remember we're live online at kplctv.com and on air.  If you're watching us online we have a couple of other stories you may find interesting:

Allen Parish has a new Sheriff and today KPLC's Holly Carter is there to find out what his goals are.  You can see more HERE.

And check out local clinical trials on an antidepressant that targets sex drive and weight HERE.

We hope you join us at noon, and have a great day everyone!
