Drew Shirley is the evening sports anchor at KPLC. He is, without a doubt, the greatest sportscaster in the history of the world. Also, he's quite humble.
Drew joined KPLC in July 2012 after spending some time out of the TV business paying life insurance bills, making dental appointments, and arguing for a living. That didn't take, so Drew is back to doing what he loves: talking about himself in the third person.
Drew's first sports job was at the NBC affiliate in Grand Junction, Colorado (motto: only 250 more miles to Denver!). Two years later, Drew became the sports reporter at the ABC affiliate in Austin, Texas, and fulfilled his lifelong dream of carrying a camera and tripod to the Final Four.
On a serious note, Drew is committed to coverage of local sporting events, local athletes, and even the serious side of sports. Coverage of all things McNeese and LSU are also priorities.
Drew knows you can catch sports highlights just about anywhere you can click on a web link, so he works to make stories more interesting to the sports fan and those who don't pay much attention to sports.
