CPSB to discuss $1M addition to Barbe High School

CALCASIEU PARISH, LA (KPLC) -

The Calcasieu Parish School Board is expected to talk about the $1 million investment to Barbe at its next meeting on Tuesday, July 10.

The money would go toward the high school's athletic department for artificial turf for the football field.

School Board Member Annette Ballard of District 4 said the subject has generated a lot of concern due to all the recent budget cuts.

"It's going to be an interesting meeting," Ballard said.

Ballard hopes to speak to President of the Board R.L. Webb after the holiday and then with Superintendent Wayne Savoy on Monday before the CPSB meeting Tuesday.

KPLC will keep you updated with what happens as more information becomes available.
