Badon pleads guilty in Bergeron case

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

In a Lake Charles courtroom on Monday, June 18, Devin Badon pleads guilty to negligent homicide of Stephin Bergeron.

In February, jurors couldn't agree when it came to Devin Blake Badon's involvement in the murder of Bergeron.

Whether it was reasonable doubt or a question on the charge, prosecutors pledged to re-try Badon.

February's mistrial wasn't the end because Louisiana law states one who aids and abets another in committing a murder is just as guilty as the one who fires the gun.

Sentencing for Badon is set for August 22, 2012.

The trial for the man accused of killing Bergeron, David Dice Fontenot, has been moved to August 20, 2012.
