    The Southwest Louisiana Tea Party movement began picking up steam in 2009 as members from throughout the five-parish area began gathering for rallies and becoming more visible and involved in local government and the political scene.

Cedric Haynes joined KPLC-TV in June 2012.   

While Cedric is new to Southwest Louisiana, he has forecast experience from his time as a meteorologist at WDNN-TV in his hometown of Dalton, Georgia. 

Cedric has tracked everything from winter storms to tropical weather, and even the major tornado outbreak over the Southeastern United States on April 27th, 2011.   

Cedric is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and Mississippi State University's distance learning program.  In addition to all-things-weather, Cedric is an accomplished musician.  He was a member of the drum line in the University of Cincinnati Bearcat Band. 

Cedric was also active as a leader in his church youth group back home in Georgia.
