Good evening, here's the latest from the KPLC newsroom...

While you were sleeping last night, powerful storms swept through northern Louisiana. The storms left behind widespread damage, hardest hit was Claiborne Parish. Chief Meteorologist Wade Hampton has the latest on the storm threat in southwest Louisiana.

Lake Charles recently won a cleanest city award, now there's a new effort to keep the city looking good, even when the judges are not around.

What would you do if you were attacked? A lake area self-defense class is teaching children and women how to fight off an attacker.

    Clean-up efforts are underway after storms rolled through Southwest Louisiana Wednesday night. Most of the damage was done in Oakdale, where a possible tornado partially tore the roof off a motel and a gas station overhang. Click HERE for more. No injuries were reported. A lot of the damage was around the Old Pelican Highway, where trees and power lines were down. The National Weather Storm is expected to visit Oakdale this afternoon to determine whether the damage is from a torna...
